Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is Belarusian born in Minsk. Their father Sergey (d. in 2019) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5 1998. In her career she has been awarded 12 WTA singles titles including an Australian Open Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. As a doubles player, she's extremely skilled. She's taken home two majors along with Elise Mertens The US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. With her fellow Belgian tennis pro, she won an award called the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami in 2019 thus making it the Sunshine Double. Only four women's pairings had achieved this feat. She rose from second to third on the world singles positions on the 23rd August of 2021. Her best ranking was again achieved in January of 2023. She rose into the top spot of the doubles ranking in the following year, after taking the title in Melbourne. It made her the second Belarusian tennis player to have success on the court. She was coached by an ex- Russian tennis pro Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until at the end of season in 2019 and in the first quarter of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her for the past year. Her greatest idols are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
